Huddersfield Town appoint Jan Siewert

Jan Siewert has been appointed as Manager of Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town have their man. Siewert, who was managing Dortmund's reserve side, has joined Huddersfield on a contract that should keep him there until 2021.

Huddersfield's previous manager, David Wagner, who left the club my mutual consent this month, also held the same position at the German Bundesliga side.

With Town sitting at rock bottom of The Premier League, Siewerts first game in charge will see him face up against Everton at home on 29th January, in a game that promises to be a difficult one regardless of the managerial circumstances.

The chairman of Town described Siewert as a "young, aspirational German", and hopes that the appointment will spur Huddersfield to reach Premier League survival.
